Dear Editor: We heard in Kigali on October 31, 2008 of the arrest of a Rwandan spy called Fred Asiimwe by the police accusing him of being a double agent (working for the French Government too.)
Reliable sources say that he was arrested by three vehicles full of CID officers at the famous Bourbon coffee shop in Kigali.
As journalists we know that this person was behind the declaration of Robert Mukombozi as persona non grata, and also spying in Uganda and Kenyan territories.
We got information in our media house that this young man had several meetings with the recently exiled ex-spy chief of Rwanda, Col Patrick Karegyeya at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi in the months of May and June.
From the Editor: For those who don't know, Robert Mukombozi is a journalist who was working for the Ugandan paper the Daily Monitor and based in Kigali. He was some time earlier this year expelled from Rwanda by the Rwandan government and declared persona non grata or undesirable person. It means, in theory, that Mukombozi cannot be allowed to step back on Rwandan soil or any Rwandan government property anywhere in the world.
About Asiimwe, this is not clear and we await further details from our source. If he met Col. Karegyeya in Nairobi, was that in his personal capacity as a friend or as an intelligence agent working on behalf of the Kagame government?
Was he trying to negotiate Karegyeya's return to Rwanda or is he a contact of Karegyeya and was passing on information to his former boss?
As you know, Karegyeya fled Rwanda for Uganda earlier this year.
He was reported to be in South Africa, then Tanzania, but we don't know his exact whereabouts right now.

Editor, I would like to comment on the alleged Rwandan Intelligence officer that was said to have been arrested.
It is true that Mr. Fred Asiimwe was arrested by CID officials in Rwanda but as a friend of his family I would like to say that this person is not an Intelligence officer, security agent or government employee instead he is a chap that does small business for survival and uses his mouth for survival. He was arrested because he was calling himself a personal friend of Col. Karegeya and an Intelligence agent wherever he goes within great lakes. The confusion to many is because of the commonly known Captain Fred Asiimwe also known as Capt. Ntare who is a long serving soldier and Intelligence officer and a very close person to Kagame cirles. As a matter of fact there is no way CID can arrest a soldier of Capt. Asiimwe calibre. I would like to let the readers know that Mr. Fred Asiimwe was released after some interrogations at CID in Kigali. Those who want to know this can contact CID I am sure they will be told a story on how this illiterate individual was arrested because of his mouth.
Keep up the spirit Radio Katwe you do a great job

Dear Editor:
I believe that recently Kagame was negotiating with Karegeya to go back to Rwanda, so for some one to rule out that Asiimwe was negotiating on his behalf can be true or sending information to PK and receiving KP too.
I think we are used to hear these stories where Kagame negotiates through his agents, let us take the example of Lt. Ruzibiza whom they called a fool when he was against them, now he is making hit headlines for them in Kigali. It shows clearly that the external secret service negotiated. There is no smoke without fire.

Dear Editor,
I am not a Rwandan nor an African but I work in the region. I know much about this guy, whom we believe that he works with a Rwandan fugitive Felicien Kabuga and as well as Kagame's regume. I cannot disclose what I am doing for my own security, because as we all know some of these Rwandans are very dangerous.
But so far what I might inform you this man met Karegeya not on a friendly basis, he was negotiating on behalf of Kagame or to put it forward, his mission was to send messages to Karegeya from his bosses in kigali. What I cannot know per now on his relationship with Kabuga whether it was on which basis.
My friend, it was shocking when I heard that this guy is arrested because I know he has alot of secrets for Diplomatic missions in Rwanda, for Kagame we all know that he is used to dumping these guys in jail.
Nevertheless I think someone has to be answer on what Kagame accuses Robert Mukombozi, who is really innocent. Taking this guy to court I think will be a good idea because he was behind the tricks.
Some one should tell us wether Kagame was busy negotiating with Kabuga few months ago?
A well wisher

Dear Editor:
According to my reliable sources this man in June was in Kenya he met Col keregeya at Hilton hotel, and he met some Hutu extremists the same hotel. I also understood that he met diplomats from the French embassy here in Nairobi. He has been all along gathering information for Kagame on Museveni and Amama Mbabazi. Now I wonder on the capacity of the Rwandan intelligence net work, why didnt they know on the movements of their operative? Any way it is hard to understand his friendship with Karegeya or Kabuga untill a good samaritan from NSS informs the Rwandans.

Editor: allow me to comment on the above comment about Asiimwe Fred. If I read the article well he called him a chap and that he does small things for survival, but from 1995 I have never heard of some one who has been imprisoned in Rwanda who is intelligent, nor literate. All of them are fools, for example Sebarenzi, PK, Foluma, Kwikiliza, Gahima, Rudasingwa, Ruzibiza and many others.
Any way we know Capt Callibre and Fred too, so I think Rwandans are now tired of the RPF propaganda, like this fellow who calls himself a friend to that guys family.
I wish Rwandans peace and unity.
