M7's time up. Ugandans, Yes can you?

Should M7 be invited to the Inaugural of HIS EXCELLENCY the Leader of the free world?

* Given his stated disgust and contempt for the LUOs of which the President Elect is descended. Remember blood is thicker than water.

* His considering the Luos Biological substances

* His having committed massive genocide on the Luos (ongoing by way of Hepatitis). His many derogatory unprecedential pronouncements and butt licking.

* Given his lack of eloquence in English, unlike the President elect who speaks with the clarity of his Luo folks. M7 and Bush stumble over English - birds of a feather.

Dear RK readers feel free to add reasons why M7's time is up.

While I am at it, I would like Ugandans with Ululation / "kijira" tradition in their culture to RING one in honour of the US presidential election!!!

We need a campaign to ensure that our SKULL and BONES collecting and displaying president is exposed.

I look forward to reading this article.

Ofwono is no idiot

I used to think Ofwono is an idiot but he is spot on on analysis of a Democrats's win in USA. He is silently sounding worried about human rights concerns they may have about Uganda. Here you are....

National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party deputy Spokesman Ofwono Opondo described the victory as historic for African Americans. "It is a good thing for racial equality since people can now believe that Africans can do something."

He, however, said the foreign policy was not likely to change much because the blacks don't control the American establishment. He also observed that Democrats, unlike Republicans, are known for meddling in other countries' politics in the guise of pushing for human rights. He said the Republicans do not care.

Source Newvision: http://www.newvision.co.ug/D/8/12/658085

Sir, if we may interject, Mr Uchumi's fears may not be well founded. The US president is responsible for first and foremost promoting and protecting his countries interests. Therefore, when it suits them, both Democrat and Republican administrations support bad governments and most probably will continue to do so.

The world laughs at us Ugandans because of people like these NRMs who are in power for over twenty years and cannot build a simple road. But they are expert conmen when it comes to stealing from the public purse.

And what has race got to do with it? The NRM and whole parliament are all black. They have been in absolute control of the establishment in Uganda for decades, what good has it done? The best we can see from our "proudly black" leaders is taking frequent trips abroad to enjoy ill-gotten wealth instead of fixing their own home.

Obama succeeds because of the values and principles he holds and lives by, not because he is black and in control. He practices ideals the regime Ofwono serves spends all its time and energy sabotaging and destroying.

It may be too much to expect a man who took it upon himself to execute an alleged thief in broad daylight, infront of school children and has never accounted for it, to grasp such ideas.

Some advice for M7, make friends with Obama

Letter to my President Museveni:

Dear son of Kaguta, Now that our hope of getting MacCain in white house so that we can continue as usaul pleasing the Republicans by supporting war around the globe has been lost, we have to go back on the drawing board and re-invent our selves and support what Obama wants-Peace.

However I do trust you as a cunning creature and you have to use all your tactics including your trade mark of rolling eyes so that we can win the heart of this son of Kenya in the White house. Make sure you among the 1st 5 Presidents to visit the new President.

Your Presidential advisor to-be.

African leaders stop at admiring, but won't emulate Obama

Dear RK,
Every Ugandan is excited about USA elections in including the Government owned media like the UBC TV. But did they try to imagine if Barak Obama was of Uganda FDC or UPC and Maccain was NRM?

This is what would happened; Obama would have been accused of raping some woman and Kale Kaihura would have his rape case files ready for the DPP.

Obama would have been associated with some rabels operating somewhere in Congo and charged with treason.

Obama would have been taken to court to prove that he is not HIV positive and incapable of leadership etc, etc.

Meanwhile, Maccain would be using the CMI, ISO, ESO, Police and Military to harass Obama's surporters.

From the picture above;what do you think happened to Africans? Are they normal human beings or there is something lacking that we don't want to accept? Why are we so greedy to the extent that we are ready to do anything to get power?

Herbert, Kampala.

The aftermath of democratic elections

As we watch the finish line in the U.S. elections, we, as Ugandans can only hope that Omunyarwanda Kaguta, self appointed President of our land can take a page or two from there ( U.S elections) 1. When you lose:

i) you don't kill your opponent

ii) you don't jail your opponent

iii) you don't tramp up false rape charges against your opponent ( not that I would vote for Besigye, in my opinion they both belong to the same legue)

iv) you don't rape the courts of the nation that gave you a chance at education and civilization ( though you remain couth and uncivilised)

v) you don't arm your fellow Balaalo and plant them overnight in your host?s backyard

vi) you don't threaten to go back to the bush to fight your opponent ( that is bush politics)?

Rather you

i) concede

ii) like a defeated gentleman ( I know you are not and never will be , you walk over to your opponent and genuinely shake hands and congratulate him on his win

iii) and from then you call him your president

vi) you then give up all your ruthlessness and promise to work with your president to develop the country

v) you return all the loot where it belongs, to Uganda

vi) Lastly YOU IMMEDIATELY RETURN TO KIGALI and wait for the International court to pick you, your family and cronies for a picnic in the Hague

Sacrificing for the greater good is the smartest choice

There has been a passionate reaction from the writer of the letter that I responded to in my October 31 posting headlined: "Uganda as a house divided - Museveni's dream come true." It's that passionate response that I'll address here.

First my brother/sister got it wrong about my opinion on her/his earlier posting. Never in my letter did I question the ability of the officers mentioned in serving as Generals. Indeed I would be happy in seeing them accorded such status.

My bone of contention was what appears to be a tribal element in the analysis. This is because I believe that this is the time for Ugandans to be willing to subdue a smaller allegiance for the bigger good; it is time to shirk parochial love for our respective tribes or clans for the bigger love of our nation. The latter will build Uganda while the former is a recipe for hatred and chaos - I guess Somalia should be a living example.

I commend the writer because in her/his response to my posting she/he went beyond Buganda and appeared more national; mentioning distinguished servicemen from other regions.

Second, I stand by my earlier statements that the Luwero war was never a war of liberation and I have no apologies to make on this. The Luwero war was a deliberate and bloody scheme by a criminal to take over instruments of power in order to access our national resources. And in that scheme he placed the citizens of this country in danger - a crime he ought to pay for.

Before Museveni launched his bloody campaign Luwero was a serene place where its inhabitants went about their daily chores happily like everyone else in Uganda.

Let's put it this way; you have a well kept compound, swept clean, nicely trimmed grass and all that pertains to order, then someone comes with a lorry-load of garbage, dumps it in your compound and proceeds to wreck havoc putting your health and that of your family in danger. Weeks later he emerges with a broom and pretends to sweep it but all that he does is to steal your chicken, and everything else he can lay his hands on in your home.

Would you say such a person came to save your family? Would he be a liberator, a hero?

More than two decades of Museveni's dictatorship and Luwero remains a desolate land, a sorry site abandoned to its peril as the "liberator" gets busy stealing our resources. Please read "Semuto shocks returning Ugandan" RK November 2 to get the clear idea of what I'm talking about.

RK has been awash with reports of how Museveni has framed past regimes in his bloodletting. I hope the writer has been following this closely.

If indeed you are committed to the belief that Museveni is a liberator then I can't help you because you could be one Ugandan living in slumber-land or best, you could be a beneficiary of the fruits of "liberation" in which case you would be right to call it "liberation." But for the rest of Ugandans, including those in Luwero, Museveni's sojourn into the Luwero jungles is one nasty nightmare.

Etome

Dear RK ,

in response to Etomes letter , one subscriber asks if some Alibabas dont write letters to confuse your readers .

Why ? Who knows , even Etome himself could be an Alibaba !

I humbly suggest that it should be left to the judgement of the readers to decide who writes sense or not .There are people like Etome who prefer pretending that in Uganda , all tribes are treated equally . There are also other people who prefer pointing out that this is not and has never been the case . Stating facts should only confuse those that dont know what the facts are .

When I wrote about Museveni`s tribal discrimination in the army , my intention was not to praise him .

NSSF: the fix is in

I TOLD YOU LAST TIME THAT mUZEE WILL TRY TO GET MBABAZI OUT OF THIS MESS AS HE DID WHEN WE WERE IN CABINET THIS TIME ON FRIDAY. LAST TIME IT WAS THE MONEY FOR THE LDUs AND AMUKA BOYS FROM THE NORTH AND TESO, MBABAZI AND SURUMA WERE INVOLVED THE CASH 12 BILLION DISAPPEARRED AND MUSEVENI BRUSHED IT OFF NO BASHING AS HE DOES WITH OTHER MINISTERS. SEEMS THEY STEAL FOR MUZEE ALL THAT MONEY IN SECURITY AND DEFENCE MAN THE GUYZ ARE RICH......BUT UGANDANS AND THE WORLD IS WATCHING....SAVIVING MBABAZI AND SURUMA IS A SHORT TIME MUSEVENI NOW THE WORLD AND UGANDANS KNOW YOU PROTECT THIEVES AND CORRUPT OFFICIALS AND PERSECUTE THE INNOCENT.

IT IS OBVIOUS WHY YOU TRANSFERED NSSF FROM LABOUR TO FINANCE AND WHY YOU TOTURED BAKOKO, SHE DID NOT GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO STEAL THE WORKERS MONET.. PERIOD

Apology is not enough

Mbabazi should return the money and not just apologize
For Amama Mbabazi to apologize is not enough. He must handover the money he was paid for selling land which did not even belong to him. The land he sold was not his in the first place; it belonged to the late Dr Samson Kisseka.

It is not fair to the majority of Ugandans to sweat every day and earn their living, while people like Amama Mbabazi can enrich themselves and become billionaires by selling fraudulently acquired property with the connivance of the President. The problem is that Museveni cannot prosecute Mbabazi because they are all thieves. Stealing ten billion shillings of tax payers' money and then be forgiven as if you have not broken any law, is not something Ugandans are going to accept this time. If our parliament allows Mbabazi to get away with this kind of theft of Ugandan workers' money, then all Ugandans will lose confidence in their highest legislating body. The Ugandan Parliament is once again giving in to blackmail and intimidation. The MPs have again failed to do their job. They have again betrayed the trust which the Ugandan people put in them as they did when they were coerced and bribed to pass legislation lifting the presidential term limits.

Mbabazi must pay this money back. Everybody in Uganda must earn his living as most people do. But at the moment, it appears that the Ugandan President dishes out financial favours to those he likes. To condone John Patrick Mbabazi and all his accomplices in this financial fraud would be a crime against the Uganda people. It will be a discouragement to hard work. It will show that the law is not applied uniformly to all Ugandans. While others are languishing in prison for stealing and fraud, some can get away with the same crime because of their closeness to the President, or because if the President moves against them, they can disclose some nasty secrets they know about him. President Museveni is giving in to blackmail from John Patrick Mbabazi by proposing to Parliament to forgive him.

Museveni is using tax payers' money as his own personal money. He withdrew 60 billion Uganda shillings for use by the State House from the Bank of Uganda sometime this year. The payment was authorized by the Governor of the Central Bank without even the approval of parliament. Imagine such theft. I am sure most of this money went to personal use. Imagine the 1.3 billion shillings which were never accounted for in the last but one budget. All members of parliament fear to express any criticism about the theft and misuse of our hard earned taxpayers' money. The fact that the President can rob the national treasury with impunity, gives encouragement to people like Mbabazi to do the same. There is no way he can condemn Mbabazi, if he himself is guilty of the same crime, i.e. stealing.

Both Sunday Vision and Sunday Monitor (2nd November) are reporting that Museveni has prevailed on his cabinet to find Mbabazi innocent. No big surprises there for regular readers of radio katwe.

The real suprises are the stories themselves. The Sunday Vision story reads like low-rent version of the soviet-era Pravda! It is so full of propaganda, you just have to laugh at how low we have been brought! Poor Cyprian Musoke whose name was stuck on the page after it had been written! Long live Kabushenga and company for thinking us so stupid!

Now read Monitor. Read how sychophantic ministers are before Museveni! He must really love it hearing all these people who are far more educated than him falling over themselves to say what they think he wants to hear! Now read how he tells Hope Mwesigye to "shut up". Eh! This is how cabinet colleagues are publically treated? Why so much disrespect for her, even publically? Why such contempt for people you choose yourself? What a comedy!

Let us all join hands to applaud this comedy. If you can't cry because you are out of tears, you can at least laugh!

Yesteryears - Kaguta: When Otafiire stood surety for Muhwezi over the Gavi fund court case, President Yoweri Museveni was not amused. He reportedly said that it was wrong for senior cabinet ministers to appear to condone corruption by openly supporting the corrupt.

Today about Temangalo Land - Kaguta to his Sycophant: "Forgive Mbabazi and Suruma"!!!!??? Now it is the most senior citizen condoning corruption!!!!!!!!!!

Ugandans, cry for our beloved country but cry as you think of the correct thing to do come 2011

Ntunulabutunuzi

Dear RK,
One of the terms of reference for the NSSF probe into the purchase of land in Temangalo was to establish whether there was value for money regarding the land bought. According to press reports, the committee recommended that the sellers should provide more land to NSSF presumably to compensate for the "hot air" Mbabazi/Nzei sold in form of wetlands.

On this one, I am disappointed that they did not recommend punitive action given the fact that it is Mbabazi who arrogantly stated in the committee that he only knows one competent authority that can declare a piece of land to be a wetland; and that is NEMA.

Now that NEMA declared a quarter of the land a wetland, how will Mbabazi/Nzei compensate NSSF? Has Mbabazi got any more land in Temangalo? Does this not make the price of 24/= m an inflated price for a wetland?

We all know that Temangalo is a village and an acre moreso in a wetland can never cost 24/= m.

Another reason why there was no value for money is because the purchase of this land was never advertised. If NSSF had come up with an advert calling on people with land to come up, I am sure they would have got better land at a better price. Museveni with his blind followers in NRM may save Mbabazi and Suruma because of their numbers in Parliament today. But this will not absolve them from prosecution when another government that is pro-people comes to power. This was a criminal act that has robbed workers of their hard-earned savings.

The anger that has accumulated in peoples hearts because of the state-inspired corruption will not allow Museveni and his band of bootlickers to enjoy that loot. Even those beautiful mansions you are living in will be knocked down and people will burn you alive.

Remember what happened to that dictator Ceusecu of Romania with his wife? It is only a matter of time before we see your painful end. My only pity is with your children who have innocently watched you plunder, they will be innocent victims. God bless Uganda.

LK

This is from the New Vision of 4th Nov 2008.

"The NRM caucus has resolved to forgive ministers Amama Mbabazi and Ezra Suruma after they apologized for their role in the NSSF Temangalo land purchase.

The security minister also NRM secretary general and the minister for finance Ezra Suruma last evening apologized to the NRM caucus at state house Entebbe."

Dear NSSF Members,
The resolution by Museveni and his cuaucus has nothing to do with us the people whose money is being misused. Remember before we saved this money, the Government led by Museveni got their own share of it in form of Pay as You Earn (PAYE). Now they have followed what was left for us and are misusing it. You have all seen and is up to you to decide whether we have a government for the people of Mafias in Government.

NSSF Member.

This is in reference to Amama Mbabazi Checkmates Museveni.

Going back to sixties, Radio Katwe was a mother of all rumours in Kampala but not today. And I would like to heartily congratulate you Bwana Editor for turning rumours into real facts of what happens around us. Why ? One of our most saluted Captain Vincent recently told us how M7 would do all it takes to save Amama for fear that if he Amama got in trouble with Temangalo land saga, he would not sink alone but with M7. This is very true as a result of what is unfolding now. As I said before, let those members of Parliament who have not sold their conscience stand up this time to save workers money by vehemently opposing this robbery of workers money. This Temangalo issue is not political but a challenge to the morals of our country. The MPS who still believe in real principles of good governance should come out to protest in strongest terms against robbery of workers money. And for workers and their dependants of voting age come 2011, kindly take note of this robbery of your !

savings which has now become official to pay the robbers in the same currency by denying them your votes no matter how much you will be bribed with. RK Reader.

Dear RK,
Last time I told you that Museveni has been caught between a rock and a hard surface and he is willing to do anything to save his ass. Those of you who thought that the man fears no one, you have seen in with your eyes. As of now, If Mabazi asks Museveni jump, he will only ask how high otherwise he will miss his 4th term.

Kanungu Resident.

Why not Invest NSSF USD 6.8m in Dubai Real Estate?

The NSSF Temangalogate land sale saga involving "Mr. Clean-Amama Mbabazi" & co. has been and is still the hot topic in the Ugandan media. Notably, this has not been the first scandal engulfing the management of the contributions and all indications are that with the same conditions remaining and NSSF being the only retirement benefit collective fund for the private sector in Uganda we may witness further scandals. However small my contribution to this legally conscript fund may be & irrespective of lots of opinions from experts, politicians, workers' representatives and aggrieved contributors expressed through all sorts of means, I wouldn't like to miss either.

There has been an enormous pressure from Financial Services industry experts and the Ugandan contributory population to liberalize the pension sector for obvious reasons of open market competitive advantage that accrues to fund contributors in a vibrant competitive market place.

Well, with my contribution being at stake, actually about to burst of anger, I have found it irresistible to purge my frustration. From the birth of NSSF, characteristic of any collective investment scheme the investment policy of NSSF was drawn way back in the 1980?s. Typical of all funds, NSSF operates within certain constraints amongst which is the legal framework that established the firm, albeit a few amendments around the second half of 1990's. Fundamental in the legal framework is the constraint imposed on the fund for limiting its foreign Investment. The argument then & that some people would still advance is to keep Capital in-house. This argument is absolutely valid to any rational person. However, I would like to highlight a few issues that if critically considered do not render this argument viable:

First of all by the time NSSF was established the world was not a Global village like it has become in the present that Capital flows across borders was as fast as we witness today. The flight Investment out of Russia from the start of the tension between Russia and Georgia is just one fresh example. The current USA Financial hiccups affecting the global financial markets just shows how interconnected the world has become, thanks to information technology advancement.

Secondly political interference in the affairs as elaborately written by Andrew Mwenda in the The Independent Newspaper of recent editions and other journalists in the media fraternity explicitly tells one how traumatized the NSSF is in making investment decisions that otherwise would be beneficial to the ultimate beneficiaries. The current Temangalo shoddy transaction explains the extent of political interference.

Thirdly, the Funds under management in NSSF seem to have grown so rapidly and to huge figures that the Investment managers can not prudently invest these monies in the prevailing asset classes stipulated in its Statement of investment policy. By the way a greater chunk of these funds are supposed to be invested in Real Estate. A sneak review of the asset classes of NSSF's investments reveals that this is the case. With a thriving stock market, albeit few companies listed & buoyant fixed income securities market, NSSF by far is the biggest Institutional Investor in most of these securities. Of course risk diversification informs that do not keep all your eggs in one basket. Where else can NSSF invest the "excess" contributions of USD 5.8m collected from its loyal contributors if it has saturated its books with domestic investments? I say loyal for the legal conscription and lack of alternative. "The answer is Political influence peddling to purchase land one may not have owned and the investment decision makers buying land whose actual quantity they are not sure of". This is ridiculous and insult to the faithful contributors. To add salt to injury, a board of director tells the parliamentary investigative committee the fund is flowing with cash with no investment opportunities, hence the lending to URA of over USD 9.0m for it to construct an office space-Really??

Times have changed and so the Fund?s investment policy statements should be regularly reviewed to ensure the fund is not short of investment alternatives by regularly reviewing constraints like the legal limitation of its economic area of investment. No doubt there is relative economic stability in the country and the fund is following its policy as framed at the onset. How about any systemic risk that the Ugandan economy may face? USA before the current financial crisis started late last year looked a strong & stable economy with sound economic fundamentals. Companies like AIG; bankrupt Lehman Brothers, Merryll Lynch, Bear Sterns a and soon to be taken over Wachovia by Citigroup as casualties of the USA systemic risk serve perfect examples here. Does Uganda have the financial muscle to rescue NSSF in case of any economic crisis like is the case in USA we are witnessing?? Am not entirely sure with the way have been handling crisis in this country.

Let politics out of NSSF, amend those laws to enable NSSF invest these excess monies out of the borders of Uganda to earn meaningful returns for me and fellow members of this fund. Do these fund managers and politicians know that prudent fund managers all over the world are earning a killing from Real Estate in the Middle East?

A typical destination is a place like Dubai to invest these funds you managers of NSSF do not know what to do with. In the first instance how much interest is URA going to pay on the USD 9.0m borrowing and what is the payback period. Here are basic facts about Real Estate Investment in Dubai, just as an example of where our NSSF funds could be meaningfully invested: No taxes on earnings; 99 year lease for a foreign investor; Better regulated real estate market with your initial outlays protected in a trust account; Over 100% capital appreciation in a years time; no corporation tax; excellent liquidity; minimum returns of 30% in less than a year; steady transformation into a leading financial services centre; booming real estate business with mega project announcements on a monthly basis; easy start of business in the emirate; ever increasing number of tourists.

If I were tasked to invest the Temangalo USD 6.8m money thrown into the swamp, the minimum guaranteed returns for which I would put my head on the chopping board would be a 40% return in 9 months!!! Property selling here starts by sale of sand!! Those familiar with property business would probably know of off plan Sales. It sounds ridiculous but reality ,real estate in Dubai is a worthwhile investment destination proposition for our misused NSSF funds. The above facts may sound unrealistic, just Google real estate in Dubai or just visit over here, you may have second thoughts of changing nationality!

Over to you the care takers of NSSF funds and those politicians who care!

For God & Safety of our Contribution and our Country

violence or folding hands?

Im very bitter with a person who suggested that we leave violence alone and follow democratic means to bring sense and change in Uganda.

Look at the NRM caucus saying that Mbabazi is innocent and Suruma!!!!!!

They are going to pocket 11 billions from Kiseka s land while Mary and her sons are wiping tears. Now Ugandans who betwiched us to this extent?

Mbabazi will not eat this money we should mobilise and do something. Lets hit his economic interests and those of his cronies. Remember what happened during Mabira give away. One person died, we should hurt their interest.

Nkunda and his genocide in eastern Congo

ON NKUNDA AND HIS GENOCIDE IN EASTERN CONGO

Dear Editor, Thanks alot for this one. It is not new to us anyway. Nkunda and Kagame are inseparable. You rightly pointed out that no one is killing Tutsi's in Congo. Its another gimmick these two brothers are using to fool the world again, as they get away with it like it was in 1994.

For long, these banywaranda have always claimed Rwanda covers Goma, Masisi, Rishuru, Mbarara, Lyantonde, Karagwe up to Masaka! This wild imagination is still very much alive in them.

Afew days ago, I was in a bus travelling and I was chatting with my friend, an elderly gentleman joined us. He told us that these goons in the names of Kagame, Museveni and Nkunda have a plan: To make Eastern Congo completely ungovernable by Kinshasa , such that with time, they ask for seccession, to create anew country just like south Sudan and parhaps add it to Rwanda. The vast resources in the east are the main envy for these three Banyarwnda brothers kagame, kaguta and Nkunda

Ali Hamis,

Arusha , Tanzania

I just wanted to comment on the article that was published on RK about Laurent Nkunda. I was so suprised to see how the author of the article has a narrow view about the mess in Congo. Nkunda didn't create the problems that Congolese people are going thru right now. Nkunda is a product of the failed policies of the Kinshasa government to keep using FDRL to fight their wars, since congolese soldiers don't fight, they are a buch of cowards!! Why don't the author of that article didn't focuse on the root causes of the war in Congo?

Congo didn't have a war before the Rwandan genocide in 1994, it is after the genocide, that RDC (Ex-Zaire) opened its doors to a bunch criminals (Ex-FAR soldiers and Interahamwe), with the help of the French military (under Operation Turquoise). Those killers brought misery to the Congolese people (not Nkunda), they kill, rape and have become more powerful with the help of Congolese Government.

Nkunda is protecting his own people against FDRL rebels that are aching to continue what they have started in 1994. You guys should accept that Nkunda has a reason to fight for his people, it is even proven with his recent successes. He has a reason to fight. Congolese soldiers don't know why they are fighting, that's why they can't even hold on their grounds. Let's have a sober assessment of what's going on in RDC, and maybe we will be able to help the Congolese people, who have been victmised, but their leader's failed policies. Let's stop to skapegoating Nkunda, because, he is a congolese and happens to be Tutsi (Look at your history books). He has the right to fight for his people.

FDRL is the problem, let's focuse our frustration to try to demilitarize them, send them back in Rwanda or if they don't want to, they can be sent far away from the Rwandan border. That way, the whole great lakes region will have peace.

RK,

Why must DRCongo citizens suffer and be violated by Uganda and Rwanda all the time and the UN, USA, Britain France, Belgium and the African Union keep so silent? Uganda has been given a seat in the UN Security council to abuse and aggravate other nations and their record is known exporting war to DRCongo, Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia and recently to Kenya where many lives have been lost.

Museveni you must STOP, YOU ARE A BULLY.

FDLR condemns actions of Rwandan backed Gen. Nkundabatware
The FDLR condemn in the strongest terms the new war of aggression and plunder that the hegemonic regime of Kagame has imposed again to the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR) condemn in the strongest terms the actions of General Laurent Nkundabatware new war of aggression and plunder that the fascist regime in Kigali has recently imposed to the peacefully peoples of the Great Lakes Region of Africa, especially to the Congolese people.

The FDLR express their sympathy to the Congolese people, especially to over a million that has been displaced by war for months and now roaming in the forests of the DRC under the gaze of the international community.

The FDLR deny the false information spread by the Kigali regime that their troops shelled with heavy weapons the region bordering Rwanda.

These statements of the Kigali regime are fanciful lies intended to mislead the public about the real causes of the ongoing aggression war, legitimize its new hegemonic war in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and tarnish the image of the FDLR.

The FDLR reaffirm that they are not involved in the ongoing fighting between the FARDC and the troops that the dictator Kagame sent to his agent Laurent Nkundabatware to plunder again by force of arms the wealth of the DRC and to institute a new regime in Kinshasa.

The FDLR urge the international community to protect the civilian populations currently victims of a senseless war imposed to them by the bloodthirsty regime of Kagame.

The FDLR wish to inform the public and the international community that the peoples of the Great Lakes Region of Africa have suffered enough from unnecessary wars initiated by Kagame, his henchmen and sponsors, and call once again the Security Council of the United Nations, the European Union, the African Union and the entire international community not only to condemn the aggression of the DRC by Rwanda but also to take immediate and exemplary sanctions against the regime in Kigali, the only actor destabilizing the entire Great Lakes Region of Africa.

The FDLR remind the whole world that they are committed to peace and will support a peacefully initiative to solve the Rwandan political problem. This initiative will only be achieved through a frank and direct dialogue between Kigali and the FDLR.

The FDLR reaffirms their unwavering commitment to the process of Rome which is the only framework for dialogue known to date between the FDLR and the DRC under the mediation of the Community San' Egidio.

The FDLR calls on all Abacunguzi to remain united and vigilant to avoid falling into the traps that the enemy tries to lay along their way in order to distract them from their noble mission, the liberation of our homeland, Rwanda.

Declaration of the FDLR N01/CD/NOVEMBER/2008

Mr. Callixte Mbarushimana is free

The Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR) wish to inform the public and medias that the German judicial Authorities have rejected on 3rd November 2008 the extradition to Rwanda of Mr. Mbarushimana and has released him from detention. Mr. Mbarushimana had been arrested and detained by the German Authorities on 7th July 2008 pursuing an international arrest warrant issued by the Rwandan Authorities through Interpol charging Mr. Mbarushimana of crime of genocide and crimes against humanity.

The FDLR welcome this decision of justice which reaffirms the innocence of Mr. Mbarushimana and hope that the Kigali regime and its allies in the persecution of the Rwandese people will learn appropriate lessons.

The FDLR wish to remind the Rwandan people and the entire International Community that the fight for justice for all is and remains the leitmotiv of their struggle.

Done in Germany on the 4th 2008.

RK Readers,

The war in DRC is the continuation of the 1998-2002 conflict. It is being tactifully done in phases. The Americans and Britain are hell bent to snatch DRC from the Francophone and make it an Anglo American colony. As soon as the hell broke loose last week, the British and American Diplomats were already in the vicinity; and ceasefire was declared in order to enter direct talk with Kinsasha.

Joseph Kabila and all Congolese, for your information, DRC is gone unless you fight to the last man. It is high time you abondon the stupidity of just dancing ndobolo when your country is going to the dogs. Unless you drive the Banyarwanda (Banyamulenga) back to where they come from (Rwanda) you will become slaves in your own country after losing everything under the ground. Don't Congolese men have balls between their legs?

To make a long story short, the Anglo Saxon is using its proxies like Museveni and Kagame to annex Eastern DR Congo, because of its massive mineral reserve/deposit essential to its industrial empire. To say annex is using the wrong word; it is to secede from DRC. The UN is part of the syndicate because it is the core beneficiary. The UN has established a permanent base at Entebbe for that purpose.

The UN has become a mega mafia organization. It has linkages to arm manufacturers, motor vehicles industries especially Toyota for its 4x4 Land Cruisers; communication equipments, etc. When you go to the Old Airport you think it is Toyota assembly line for crosscountry vehicles.

Therefore violence and armed conflict especially in Africa is functional. We can't even rule out that Kony and the LRA are being set up near DRC border to overstetch the Congolese army; and deal a defeat in Goma.

Dear readers, if it true that our people are clandestinely being recruited to back up Nkunda then there are more tears and blood to be shed. But Ugandans why is it the poor man's sons to fight the rich man's war; why is the poor man to protect the rich man and his wealth? Ugandan, why is it the innocent to guard the criminals? Why is it the hungry to guard the pot-belly?

Enough is enough! May be we need anarchy so that everyone is for himself like in Somalia where no one is above others for exploitative purpose.

Dear editor thanks for the same good work please may I say that these so called ministers should stop telling Congo of Lusaka agreement the agrement was for the each counntry to abide with not one, in fact M7 has not abide with it this is why I am still in exile had they abided I would have been home they are the ones who do not follow, Kabila took Bemba and others he even gave them jobs including Nzenga Mabutu who is now a minister were is the minister from UNRF2 from Ugandan government let them tell us!! these thugs are playing with the mid of others but we all know their tactics I tell you honestly there shall be no peace in Uganda until this regime is topled I promise you Ugandans we are working day and night make sure that this plan is fulfilled what ever may be, we are human beings with brain we know what is good for us so they should stop saying that kabila should follow the Lusaka meanwhile they do not follow, may I say their best frind George Bush is going we shall see who will help them as Obama is from a Nilotic tribe we shall see if he can accept to see his subjects to suffer like before

JB has a case to answer

Dear RK,

Am a citizen in Rwanda and I have read several articles written on RK about JB Sanyu and felt concerned to give you some info on that issue. Before reading about JB on RK, I had read many articles about the scandal in our local papers and heard a number of comments made by the citizens about his case. I finally developed interest of knowing exactly what was happening to the former New Times boss. In this endeavor, I started attending his trial in court since late July, in this proceeding, the prosecutor accused JB Sanyu of embezzling Frw 51,216,820 during his time as the managing director of The New Times.

In this way JB is alleged to have used money from the paper to buy air tickets for people without any connection to The New Times; the prosecutor also accused him of having allocated to himself a bonus of 2millions every six months without the consent of his employers; Sanyu was also alleged to have bought a car with money from The New Times and signed the purchase contract without informing the Director of Finance and after buying the car, his wife Busingye was renting the same car to The New Times, the real owner of the car; Sanyu also allegedly took 2 millions per month for a period of six months form The New Times? accounts under the pretext that the paper was donating the money to Umutara Polytechnic based in the Eastern province but the school says it has never seen any money from The New Times; Sanyu also used to allocate to himself housing allowances that were not stipulated in his contract that he would be paid for such allowance.

The prosecutor also said that JB Sanyu had admitted the embezzlement and the evidence to this was a letter written on August 29, 2006 to the chairman of the News paper?s board of governors, titled apology and responsibility. Part of the letter as it was read by the prosecutor reads ?it is unfortunate that I have never bothered to solve my problems with The New Times. In this regard, I realize that I acted irresponsibly by not listening to your advices. I request you to give me a chance to solve this case out of court as it would be the most reasonable way of solving the issue?

When he was asked to defend him self, Sanyu said he had nothing more to say. The New Times' lawyer said that his client wanted JB Sanyu to pay back the embezzled money and damages worth Frw 3millions and ask for forgiveness as well. The judges decided that the verdict was to be passed on 16th of August 2008.

Before the verdict would be passed, JB Sanyu added himself another case. It is now forgery. In a bid to prove him as being innocent, Sanyu forged a document and signature of an important person in Rwanda so as to offer it as a proof that he was authorized to spend some amounts of money from The New Times. The Criminal Investigation Department questioned Gihana, a former DAF of The New Times to find out whether he over saw the documents JB had presented.

Dear readers, from such information I realized that the guy was not innocent as some of the people were arguing. It is clear that the guy used all ways possible to embezzle the company's funds. But as in our Kinyarwanda saying, a thief has only 39 days and on the 40th day he must be caught. That?s exactly what happened to JB Sanyu.

Concerning his whereabouts, I can?t tell where he is but I suspect the guy might have fled the country like several others who have embezzled funds and run away from the country and go to declare themselves as political refugees. Meanwhile, I have seen a police notice in news papers requesting any of the public who may have information about the Sanyu's whereabouts to inform the police. Let us wait and see, if he is still hiding in the country, he will be caught by the policy and if he already fled the country and he decides to declare himself as a political refugee like other people did, we will know where he is.

RWB protests attack on Ethiopian journalist

3 November 2008 : ETHIOPIA

Leading newspaper editor beaten unconscious outside son's school

Reporters Without Borders condemns a violent attack on leading journalist Amare Aregawi on 31 October in Addis Ababa, in which he sustained serious head injuries. Aregawi edits The Reporter, a big-circulation newspaper published in Amharic and English-language versions.

"The Ethiopian police must investigate this attack thoroughly in order to identify both the perpetrators and the instigators," Reporters Without Borders said. "A show of firmness will convince others who might be tempted to use physical violence to settle scores with the press that such behaviour would not go unpunished"

Aregawi was dealt blows to the back of the head with a stone by one or several men as he was leaving his son's school in the capital's Bole district at about 4 p.m. on 31 October. He lost consciousness immediately and, bleeding heavily from his injuries, was rushed to Hayat hospital in a serious condition.

Journalists at The Reporter said one of his assailants was arrested, as was the driver of a taxi they were going to use to get away. The police are investigating.

The newspaper's staff said the motive for the attack was not yet known. Aregawi had received threatening phone calls. He was arrested on 22 August after a large privately-owned brewery brought a libel complaint against the newspaper and was released five days later on payment of a small bail amount. The libel suit was withdrawn soon afterwards.

The Reporter is owned by Media & Communication Centre, a company created and run by Aregawi, who used to head Ethiopia's public television broadcaster. He is one of the country's best-known journalists.

THE PAM AWARD IS NOW OVER BUT WHO BENEFITED

Its a shame for the gaint sponor UBL not to provide for its staff with tickets for entry for the function. A company that does not value its workers is doomed. How do you expected your staff to enter for such a function using her/his ID while his spouse is watching and the general public which you're trying to convience to buy you product is watching the staff arguing with the gate collectors to allow him enter by use of an ID.

Considering a budget of 3.5b, spent to organise the function, what is the greed of the organisers to treat ground troops like beggers.

Company image is very important for us customers, but when you start to show as that you do not respect your staff definitely there you can't respect your customers.

Exilees, plan for the children

Hello Radio Katwe.
Im not writing on behalf of the people in exile but this is my obersevation. A good example is our neighbouring country, Rwanda, the people who forced Tutsi to exile, some didnt pay a heavy price after 40 years but the price was paid by their children and realative if not the entire Hutus.

Ladies and gentlemen,we are here in exile forced away by a few people, but one day even our children will follow us and join usin misery because they cant jobs, scholarships, our relatives cant get tenders, they dont even have Temangalo lands to sell to workers organisations.

But may be our grandchildren will definately go back, like the Isreaelist did, The question is that will they go back with love or revange? Will they find those who tortured us tormented us,robbed us, alive? Will they settle dawn and dine with the grandchildren of our tormentors? buy in their supermarkerts, marry their daughters, bank their money in their banks, get jobs etc?

Now listen to those who have ears, lets unite raise money educate our children, tell them why we are here in exile and one day we shall or they shall go back may be with changed hearts but I doubt. Reach me on km36320@gmail.com. Pliz lets be serious and unite and know each other like the way the Tutsis did, We make a plan for our children and grandchildren may be one day they can benefit from our sweat. Those who are enjoying pliz enjoy more, be happy, grab as soon as you get a chance ccm chukua chako mapema (grab whatever is available soonest)The head of state will save you the way he is doing to Mbabazi,Suruma and the like.

Km.

And there is always room for a good conspiracy theory

hello,rk,thanks for the good work once again of passing out all this invaluable knowledge to the mass deceived\mass controlled sheep that ugandans had become without any sense of direction at all.i bet we have a long journey but now that we are started,we will walk the full length of our journey i believe.

if any one ever wanted to know the reason as to why museveni is what he is,says what he says, does what he does and intends on what he shows his intentions to be directed at,then read this. http://educate-yourself.org/cn/makowsatanistbankerconspiracy27oct08.shtml.

You will then understand why at one point museveni was suggesting uganda does not need a central bank, why he is so intent on fixing uganda into such unstructured organisations as the east african community(eac),and now is it trapartite? yet at the same time he is so hell bent on breaking down the structures of our nation state called uganda that he found in place while dividing ugandans along ethnic lines.

yet the ordinary ugandans who pay taxes every day and whose taxes are used in huge amounts to facilitate the organising of conferences and workshops discussing how to unfold those alien organisations on the unsuspecting ugandans do not see any infrastructure on their land. you'll understand the reason museveni needs the jet he's ordered for without a care in the world.the reason"america","europe",etc are happy with him despite all this.

you will understand the reason he acted/acts the way he did/does towards the kabaka and why he is okay with the other "kings"; reason for the on-going/on-coming land bill and the rush for him,his family and cronies for very big chunks of land on OUR MOTHER LAND,without any shame.

the reason he so very often acts as though he is insulting the donors/western world/colonialists,etc,after calling them together for conferences or meetings with him and yet they will do nothing.

you will understand where his self given names of revolutonary, visionary, etc actually come from.

the reason for our silent financial turmoil.honestly, how can a country have a 50,000= note and everything is said to be okay?ask yourself that question.moreover,at the same time the president says we do not need a central bank and goes ahead to give out the money therein to his so called friends(actually, his stooges in business).

the reason why everyone will look at the wrongs going on and say nothing about them for fear of being labelled,"anti-government","hater","tribalist","anti-uganda",etc,by those people that actually practice those same deeds.the hatred is entirely from the side of those who scream out such words.that's how it's supposed to be,reverse psychology.
