update: Letter From Semuto

Hullo RK readers, I salute you all in the name of motherland Uganda. I recenlty wrote in complaining to President M7 about forgetting 'Abalwaani be' (his fighters). I am now here and now confirming that the only great master in thief is finally coming to Semuto to lie to 'Abalwaani be' again. What a disgrace! Imagine after 23 years of little, if any at all in the Luwero Triangle, mbu, he is coming to inaugurate the start of Mattuga-Semuto road.

THANK you Mr President but this is simply not enough. I would like to ask you a few questions:

1 -- Why has it taken you so long to invest some of the loot from our own (tax) money into the Luwero Triangle? Honestly, this is our money, you are not doing the people of Semuto any favours by tarmacking the road. This is a requirement of any government to upgrade roads to a standard level for citizens to go on with their daily lives and businesses. (So it is our right, it is your work, for which we pay you a fat salary and all the benefits you enjoy so don't come posing as a lord showering his subjects with favors).

People from this region can bear witness with me that the Mattuga-Semuto road has been extremely bumpy and virtually impassable for as long as I can remember.

2 -- Is there any other legacy by your government Mr President for the people of Semuto to be proud of? Let alone the mass graves containing thousands of skeletons and skulls as a result of your brutality right from 1981-85? I'm sure one day you will be held to account for these atrocities.

3 -- Ms Sayyida Bumba, you come from this region, why dont we have power as part of the rural electrification programme? Don't get me wrong, even other regions of Uganda supported the struggle but Ankole region where you claim to come from is endowed more than the rest, with all donors support and the loot from our coffers.

Luwero triangle, more so, Semuto should have formed part of the reconstruction efforts because this was the epi-centre of the war. Do you recall, in 1981, when you stood at Semuto round-about and declared that "all people should move away from this area"? But what have we got back in return? Lie after lie for almost 24 years. Mr. President, these are serious concerns by the people of Luwero triangle.

The true nature of the problem is deeply ingrained, we fully understand that it is something else. By and large, it is not because you want to help the reconstruction efforts for Luwero and Semuto for that matter, but rather, you want are canvassing for votes come 2011. But we are watching you closely (and our memories are very long and still strong).

Do you think Mr. President that the people of Semuto and Luwero Triangle, poor as they are, can't afford the ocassional meal with meat? You have wasted our (tax) money to the tune of shs. 50m to have a few cows slaughtered for people to eat because you are coming. I'm sure the people of Luwero deserve far much better than the mouthful of meat you have given them. What we want is not meat for your information, to us this is but a continuation of your cheap political tactics that has been on shameful display for so long. We want you to give back to these communities, what you ruined, what you took from them. You killed the bread winners in most families especially those who refused to support you.

Thank RK and our parents that many of us can now articulate issues, analyse your deceitful manners, lies and greed.

On this very point, I want to remind you that before the war, the masses of Luwero Triangle were self-sustaining, many with hundreds of heads of cattle. I will mention one particular man, the late Kyamufumba and the like had more than enough to feed and care for their families. But what have you done for such families, apart from throwing them a few morsels of beef now? At least you should have used this (our) money through the so called Welfare Office at Okello house to give them a chance in life through education. But to my dismay, this office supports families which do not even have connections to Uganda. Reference here is made to former Somali clan head/war lord Farah-Aidid's family and many more.

Take an analytical look at Semuto hospital, what do we have there? Nothing! Infact, after watching the BBC Panorama programme about Aid in Africa, if Mulago can't treat patients, can you imagine what Semuto hospital is like? Nothing at all - no gloves, no medicines, nobody can perform even the most minor surgical procedure. What a disgrace Mr President!

But you can in a show of fake/cheap and frankly insulting "generosity" afford via your office to send more than 40m shs to organise food for people who will attend your function. Many cows will be slaughtered -- is meat what we want in this day and age Mr. President?

One really wonders if your so called presidential advisers do their jobs (the likes of Mr Sula Serunjogi and Hajji Sseddunga), do they advice you on what really matters to the people? If they do, what have you really done for the last 23 years of unremitting greed?

Mr. President, these are serious issues and I am sure they are not unique to Luwero or Semuto but cut across the whole country. You have to tackle the issue of corruption, set a few examples of tough action by punishing your ministers who embezzle our money.

But on the other hand, we know they do it with and for their master thief. Mike Mukula was aksed on BBC Panorama if he were covering up for any one in the Global Fund money scandal, his answer was "No Comment".

In your 23 years of looting, have you ever taken any serious actions against the corrupt officials? But of course, how can you if the likes of Mr. Smarts can put you in the corner and box you up, and in a worst case scenario knock you out?

For God and my Country

yours
Son of Semuto.

Stop demonising Tutsi!

Dear RK,

can you also expose the shallowness of these blood thirsty people who have never been taught by history and continue to sow seeds of hate among our population in Uganda, especially as they direct their evil hearts against the Tutsi's in the Great Lakes Region?

In the section: "Your Letters" of the 13 Dec., Update, some one comes up and writes on the "Death of Lumumba, under the title: "Congolaise Living the same nightmare 50 years later" and makes reference to youtube for all to see:

It is clear how Lumumba was put on the firing squad and later his body cut into pieces and burnt by the bazungu, to destroy evidence.

Later comes this other Congolese claiming to hail from Kivu saying the Tutsi's are the ones using those brutual methods of killing. Sincerely is that not just a bias against Tutsi's, many of whom are very innocent? Directing the whole Great Lakes Region against Tutsi's as an ethnic group tantamounts to genocide ideology which must be guarded against by peacelovers in the Region.

One can actually come to a conclusion that such writers are the interahamwe wishing to sow seeds of hate. They should remember wherever they are, that their evil acts on the innocent is a call of blessings from God and as such the Tutsi's will thrive and develop with or without East African Community. The Jews met such hatred in their bitter history but did not abandon their vision of Unity and Development!

What else would Obote write on Tutsi's? Who dos not know the plans he had for them. Read history and make right conclusions. Is this man Kato who baught a kid's head and genitals for sacrifife a Tutsi? Was Amin who shot Bishop Luwum right in the mouth a Tutsi? The MP in Arua miunicipality who gunned down his wife, if the allegations turn out to be true, is not a Tutsi. The bazungu who assassinated Patrice Lumumba were not even Africans. Bin Laden is an Arab and not a Tutsi. Human history is full of such brutal acts but which must be handled individually and responsibly. Think twice my dear and Pray for deliverance otherwise the devil is overtaking you.

Any killing of a human being is an evil act which is individually done and no basis to brand it on an ethnic group. This is not only a logical fallacy of generalization but also of ignorance.A dangerous combination!

In Uganda's worst companies: Barclays Bank, Red Pepper

Barclays Bank is the most disorganized company in Uganda. When their systems are okay they are perfect but when down they are the worst. Thus their imperfectness[sic] outweighs their perfectness.

From Red Pepper Publications: they overwork employees and give them their little pay, very late.
"I was a reporter for the Red Pepper in Uganda and the conditions under which the freelance reporters do their work is not good. Can you imagine as the bosses enjoy luxurious cars we the reporters suffer especially when they pay us a mnoths pay after two whole months have elapsed?"

Sorry, I got the wrong names

Dear Radiokatwe Editor,
I would like to make a correction; on "Is M7 making allies in Obama's administration", it was supposed to be Ms. Valerie Jarrett and her mother who hosted Museveni and his wife in their NYC home. I'm very sorry, it was not Ms. Powers. Please remove that article. You may edit it if possible.
Than you very much concerned Ugandan.

Dear Museveni, we are tired of of you, please go!

We are tired of Museveni's regime. Why cant he resign and go back to Rwkitura? We as Ugandans we need change, if not, we gonna try otherwise. Maybe he thinks he is the only man in Uganda.

He has sold up all our things ie Banks, schools, hospitals, dairies, Mabira[forests] just mention but afew. Let him go back home if not we as a special group from nowhere we gonna make him go.

Breaking news. Do you know that this man is behind Joseph Kony? Its his Gov't that supplies all the equipments to that Kony.

Mr Atubo, you 'eat', but selling your colleagues is unacceptable

RK and Readers,

I am incensed by Omara Atubo's castigating the Acholi MPs for condemning the UPDF attack on the LRA Camp in Garamba in the New Vision (19th Dec 2009). Any rightful thinking Ugandan would condemn the aggression. It is innocent human beings that are being bombarded by bloodshot eyed Brig. Kankiriho, not sandbags. Brig Kankiriho names must be put on the ICC list for crime against humanity.

Atubo is first of all a sell out who has no moral character to say anything about the Acholi. He even has no face among his tribesmen in Lango. The Acholi MPs are not answerable to Omara Atubo. Therefore he has no right to lecture them. Atubo must wake up to the fact that the Acholi are the ones who have suffered the most: First under Amin's slaughter regime, and now under Museveni whose boots he licks for pieces of silver.

Although Obote was a Langi, but after Amin deposed his UPC government in 1971, it was the Acholi who suffered the most. Atubo is the most treacherous Langi we have ever known. Atubo's statement is an indicator that he wants to isolate the Acholi leaders and vilify them in the eyes of Ugandans.

Most probably he is the one giving false information that the Acholi MPs are the ones supporting the LRA, and whose list Ruth Nankabirwa, Minister of State, is contemplating to expose. If Atubo reads RK, he must realize that the Acholis have suffered, but will continue to suffer it alone without selling theirs souls and can go it alone. We don't need anybody's sympathy. Atubo can lavish in his newfound riches and false glory under the corrupt NRM system, but he should shut up as far as the peace in the North is concern.

If he talks like that to win favor in eyes of his former tormentor Museveni and Gen Tinyefunza, in order to become the next Attorney General after Makubuya, do so without selling your colleagues in parliament.

I am getting convinced that Atubo wants the Acholis annihilated or destroyed. He is the one behind the land giveaway to Museveni and his phony investors.

Finally Atubo has not woken up to the fact that he is among wolves who can devour him any moment.

M7's ancestral records sought for academic thesis

M7 Place of birth

Radiokatwe, I am doing a thesis on political sytems in Uganda. Part of my thesis deals with M7's presumed origin from Rwanda and how this has translated into him looting the country blind. If there is anybody out there who has documentary evidence to prove M7 place of birth, they should get in touch via Radio Katwe. I will be willing to pay for this data because without it my thesis falls apart.

update, 22 Dec 2008

About M7 Place of Birth,
I advise the person who wants Museveni's place of birth to start from Kisoro, South Western Uganda. That is where Museveni first settled with his mother after crossing into Uganda. The Bafumbira in that place may know where these people were coming from.

But those people (Museveni type) are very secretive, they may not have revealed where they were coming from and you will be lucky to get much.

Military action against Kony detracts from real problem

Dear R K,

Once again the International and the home-grown fraudsters controlling the GLR (Great Lake Region) are at it; playing their usual game of bluff and double bluff, at great costs to African lifes!

The recent (or still on-going) joint operation "lightening thunder" against LRA in Garamba is clear proof that Africa has moved from the label of being the "Dark Continent" to that of a "Dead Continent". Lamentably one notices that there are no more African leaders, like those we had in the sixties, who commanded respect in world politics. Moreover "The West -- (mainly Britain and America) treats leaders of the entire continent with utter contempt, hence now and again some "chosen" African leaders are being sent on missions that have nothing to do with interest of the continent but the hidden agenda of the "West". The recent joint operation against the LRA is a case in point.

The operation is intended to decoy the world from focusing the crimes of renegade Nkundabatware, who has publicly threatened to march on to Kinsasha. One would have expected that MONUC would treat Gen.Nkunda as a greater threat, not only to the DRC but to the whole GLR. If anything, the operation has once again provided a golden opportunity for Rwanda and Uganda to loot the DRC, this time with the express approval of their naive victim. The fact that Mr.Kabila has authorized the same convicted looters of his country to re-enter the DRC, even before the outstanding fine of $100m imposed by the World court is settled , to me, repudiates the claim by the DRC against Uganda. It also raises the suspicion that Mr.Kabila's allegiance seem to lie more with the Tutsis than with the DRC. The Congolese had better take note.

Instead of organizing a joint operation against renegade Gen Nkundabatware, who according to a recent UN finding is responsible for acts of genocide and war crimes against the people of Eastern DRC, the West sent their page boys on a wild goose chase of the powerless LRA, which to me offers no threat to Juba, Kinsasha, Kigali or even the Kampala regime.

The inability of the DRC leaders to know who their true enemy is so serous that it borders on criminality. Mr Kabila should revisit the history of their country and acquaint himself with people who assassinated the great Pan-Africanist Patrice Lumumba, despite the presence of the UN troops sent to protect him. The same people have never left the Congo and are busy pretending to be on Mr.Kabila's side. What amazes me is that Mr Kabila (Junior) should be doing deals with the same evil people who allegedly had a hand in the assassination of his father. A true African would not do that, even if the "father" was a foster father. I shudder to say that "those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it"

Equally amazing is the fact that GOSS leaders have shown that they too do not know who their true enemy is. They have conveniently forgotten the hospitality the people of Northern Uganda gave them since 1956, considering what they did to their own "brothers" in the North, once under Amin and now under Museveni. One would have thought that at this point in time GOSS leaders would have the coming referendum as their number one priority, rather committing their troops to serve foreign interest.

Even if they were to achieve their independence from the Khartoum they should not forget that their Northern border will remain a permanent feature of their landscape!

The instability in the region is the direct result of the tribal armies deployed all over the region. Recently, did not Mr.Riek Machar report to the Southern Sudan Regional Assembly that their own parliamentary select committee investigations confirmed that some of the killings in the region blamed on LRA were in fact carried out by UPDF? These tribal armies are deployed in Southern Sudan, Darfur (under UN), Eastern DRC, Uganda , Rwanda and Burundi . All have a common agenda. By contrast, the LRA is trapped in Garamba, in the middle of no where; hardly a mobile force, yet atrocities committed by Tutsis all over the region are quickly attributed to the "ubiquitous" LRA.

The Western papers knowingly and promptly disseminate such lies in their media, which reaches the whole world. In any case the real motive of the raid was not because Kony has refused to sign that charade of an agreement but because he refused to make himself available for the ambush that was awaiting him, on his way to signing the agreement. It is a question of the "fish" recognizing the bait and refusing to swallow it. So the fisherman and his criminal cabal are incandescent with rage, lest they fail to meet the January 20th deadline!

In any case there has never been any intention on the part of Mr Museveni and his ruling facist clique to bring real peace to the North, if his records and the NRM/NRA war song are anything to go by. The recent report of the International Crisis Group dated 10/12/08, even though prepared on the false premise that there is a "normal" government in Kampala , and that Mr. Museveni seeks peace could provide a basis for discussion, as it contains some useful suggestions. It does not need the death of Kony, who is no where near Uganda, to bring peace to the region.

When one RK reader wrote a while ago, that there is an Anglo-Saxon plan to create a Tutsi empire by ceding Eastern Congo and merging it with Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, etc. I did not take him seriously. Now I can see that Eastern DRC is soon going to be under the full control of Gen. Laurent Nkundabatware, because of the naivety of the DRC leaders. In anticipation of this plan the outgoing President Bush has already rigged two Tutsi controlled countries ( Uganda and Rwanda ) into the Security Council, at the expense of bigger and more deserving African countries. It will not be difficult for a case to be made, even on bogus grounds, for self-determination of Eastern DRC. For goodness sake the African Union must start preparing a force to counter this neo-colonialist attempt to re-partition the continent, just to serve their evil intentions.

My advice to fellow Ugandans (especially those well placed to do so) is that we should read between the lines a letter which appeared under first letter in RK dated 12/12/08 entitled "One sniper could solve Uganda's problem" by I.Smith of Cumbria, England, otherwise let us brace ourselves for the enslavement to come. The Hutos know what this means more than any one else on earth.

Justice group asking for legal help

A group of friends who love justice and feel for Africa, and coalescing around a name: Justice for the Great Lakes Region (JUGLAR); are requesting the following:

1. That the poor people of Congo (D.R.) be helped to bring up a case of genocide and crimes against humanity against Yoweri Museveni, Paul Kagame and Laurent Nkunda.

2. That if possible, similar distressed peoples in this region who feel that these men have committed massive atrocities against them, join the cry for justice.

3. That these men be arraigned in the ICC for their role in the death of at least seven million Congolese.

4. That if there are compassionate lawyers out there, willing to help with little or no expectation of financial gain, they contact them through Radio Katwe.

It should be noted however that the government of Congo cannot at this particular time be willing to bring up charges against these men. The onus therefore is on the Congolese people to mobilise and bring about these charges. JUGLAR is already helping out set up a coordination unit for this activity.

RK, we request for assistance for the Congolese people in getting Museveni, Kagame and Nkundabatware to justice. We requested that any offers of legal help be channeled through you. This is to help us avoid penetration.

No difference between Museveni and Kasulu of Property Masters

Dear RK, If the information we read in The Independent news magazine last week is correct (" Museveni’s hand in CMI land scares investors", 18 December 2008 By Obed K. Katureebe; that Meseven gave the Shimoni land to Sudhir, then to Saudi Arabia Billionaire, then gave CMI land to sudhir, then to Government of Kenya; What is the difference between President Museveni and Mr Kasulu of defunct Property Masters Company?

Army should identify the dead

Dear RK Editor,

Since Museveni came to power in 1986, the New Vision and other dailies have quoted army spokesmen reporting the number of rebels killed by NRA/UPDF. Rebels have been killed right from Busia to Bundibugyo and from Kumi to Arua. I would like the army spokesman to tell the country the names and number of rebels they have killed so far and where they were buried. I suspect people who are murdered in the notorious safe houses in Kampala are dumped in Gulu and labeled rebels.

In civilized countries, every citizen and alien is identified and registered. All deaths and their causes are recorded before burial. What really prevents Uganda from identifying her citizens? We know many aliens are pretending to be Ugandans. Some, the likes of Kagame took up arms and killed our people. I wonder if veteran Moses Ali (born in Sudan) ever applied for naturalization.

I would like to request the "True Ugandans" to set up a website to which Ugandans can send names of their missing dear ones. There should also be a column to which Ugandans can forward names and location of illegal aliens.

Ugandans worst enemy not Museveni, but their own apathy

Hello

I have been reading Radio Katwe since 2006 and I must say with every sentence, I get more and more depressed. I have just realised that in all that is written, I have NEVER ONCE, read an encouraging story depicting the demise of this oppressive regime that is Museveni's.

It is perhaps in some peoples' interests (but not all) to read about the lootings, the corruption etc- but what is anyone doing about it? What is the point of just sitting there and lamenting and not even standing with one loud voice to say to the man -- enough is enough?!!!!! We are heading in to 2009, Museveni is still in power and the world is progressing while Uganda is sliding backwards!!

When is someone going to stand up and ask Museveni point blank to explain what he has done since coming to power Re: hospitals (which are rotting), roads, sanitation and the list goes on? And No, do not tell me the West is protecting the man - because if they were he would not be buying arms from North Korea. The West are of the opinion that Ugandans have accepted NRM!!

There is really no need to talk about what happened yesterday - it serves no purpose, rather concertrate on the now and what should be done to secure the future of Uganda. DO NOT WASTE TIME!

Is there a difference between Uganda is Zimbabwe? Yes, at least the Zimbabwean are very vocal and 'very now' as opposed to Ugandans who have chosen to suffer in silence.

Dear Elderly Ugandans, what have you done for your country?

Dear Elderly Ugandans (those born 1960 and earlier)

What are you doing to save our motherland Uganda? You saw how the country was managed during that time. There was law and order in the country. Children went to school and almost all parents could take their children to school. People went to hospitals when they were sick and they got drugs without paying a coin. These days parents watch their children die of malaria and other treatable diseases.

Our parents were friends with people of other tribes and no tribe hated another. All tribes carried out their jobs deligently for the good of humanity.

roads were roads in the true sense of the word, not tracks cattle use to go to wells to drink water (mind you they drunk from different wells not from the ones humans use)

There were buses and trains. Travelling was very cheap.

Makerere was a university in the truse sense of the word 'university' Students were well fed and companies were eager to take them on without even experience. Car dealers were approaching them wooing them to buy cars on hire purchase. They could furnish their homes on hire purchase.

We really lived in paradice but now........... What hurts most is most of the sycophants in Museveni's gov't lived this wonderful life but are doing nothing to change the mismanagement of the country. I would excuse the ones born in the last sevenites onwards but the wazee's ah ah - you have sold your country

Dear First Lady Janet Museveni,

LETTER TO THE FIRST LADY OF UGANDA
Hallo, I greet you in the name of Jesus our Lord. For a long time I have wanted to talk to you about the state of affairs in our beloved nation, my efforts were never successful til today.

I know that you are an anointed woman of God, a real bible believing, tongues talking christian child of God. My concern with the state of affairs is that a number of us are beginning to wonder what it is you are doing when the devil seems to be making a comeback into our country, thru blatant election theft like in kyadondo recently, corruption like in NSSF, safe houses where your husband is hanging people on meat hooks, total collapse of public services like hospitals, balalo land grabbing, terrible nepotism and tribalism most of it perpetrated by president Museveni. Homosexual conferences in Kampala, Red Pepper ponography and character assasination. You seem to be totally blind to all this.

You are sitted at the gate of the city and all this evil is getting in right past you, I feel a need to warn you in the very same way that Esther was warned, YOU WERE POSITIONED IN THE PALACE FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS, IF YOU DONT USE YOUR INFLUENCE TO STOP THE EVIL THAT IS BREEDING THEN SALVATION WILL COME TO THE NATION BY OTHER MEANS BUT YOU AND ALL THE NRM NOBILITY WILL NOT SURVIVE.

God is not mocked, whatever a people reap is what they sow. Apostle Mulinde has already said it, there is coming a major genocide the likes of which Uganda has never seen similar to the French Revolution. A David like character will be chosen from somewhere and raised and the family of Saul and all his allies will be annihilated. Do not become cold to the desperate cries of the poor. You have only a little time left.

Apostle OKN,
SAVE UGANDA PRAYER CHAIN

The EC playing with Uganda's future

The Weekly Observer's main story last week titled "ELECTORAL COMMISSION RIGS FOR NRM", gives you an idea of what elections mean in Uganda.

There is an unspoken hope or agreement among us Ugandans that elections are, or will be an opportunity for change. It might be time to take a hard look at that assumption and decide whether we need to re-adjust our expectations to reality.

The proverbial writing is on the wall, it is up to us to read and understand it. This is our country, our destiny.

The Weekly Observer listed the top managers of the EC so you can have an idea of who holds the key to our future.

You remember Dr. Eng. Badru Kiggundu (chairman), during the official announcement of the presidential results in 2006 while at Namboole stadium, he was trying to read the results but he kept receiving mobile phone calls from somebody who I assume was remote controlling him. This we all saw live on TV if you remember.

Sam Asiimwe Rwakoojo (Secretary) is related to Foreign Minister Sam Kuteesa and owes his EC job largely to the efforts of Kuteesa. In return, he has done a good job of taking care of Kuteesa's business interests there, which include being granted the major EC contracts like supplying stationary, ballot papers, and so on.

Maybe someone who is knowledgeable will clarify on the academic profile of Mr Rwakoojo at Mc Pherson College, Kansas, USA.
