From early estimates from satellite imagery on Garamba forest where the LRA has its bases, it seems some of their camp structures plus trees in the area were damaged. Also some few areas appear to have been scorched but there is no evidence of human casualties.
According to sources at CMI, in a desperate attempt to counter the derision and skepticism of the public, the army has already prepared images to show "collateral damage" but these will be file photo images from Operation Scorched Earth which Major-General David Tinyefuza conducted in Gulu in the early 1990s.
The media like Daily Monitor and New Vision media conglomerate have now come under pressure to dis-inform the public by regurgitating government reports without verifying them.
A source in military intelligence has also informed us that the UPDF is currently laying mines in Garamba forest around the area where Kony was camped in a bid to try and blow up Kony's men who might be lurking around there.
This propaganda by the state against arch-enemy Kony is not new. In 2006, the Red Pepper, which gets most of its intelligence and military news from State House informers reported that Kony had been killed. They said he had died of AIDS.

something to think about.i have literally lived my whole life through m7's era. the one thing i have noticed is how so convinced the man believes everyone believes him even though he knows people do not! this is because a lier believes their lie more than anyone else. you have to lie to yourself before you lie to anyone.
everyone knew right from the beginning the peace jokes were to end like this!
it was only the man, the lier, the white-cow-balls'-climber who believed he was doing something...actually nothing but what everyone believed. trying to push for a war.
now we hear they are hitting empty camps while they are so hell bent on getting everyone to believe they have killed kony, the man with nine lives..i remember his Kaunda suite, his plate, his dreadlock all captured after being killed only for the man to always re-appear. God bless kony. m7's time is pretty close, very close, just watch the space.

DISAPPOINTED.
A Comment no.1 on the Update on the UPDF, issued on 18 Dec., this guy Ozele concludes thus: "...God bless Kony, m7's time is pretty close, very close..." Some time back another write said that only kony and lakjwena are true patriots Uganda has ever had.
Actually, many writers on this site seem to support what Kony has done and express bitterness against Museveni. It indicates how these writers are of the same thinking as konyi, with the same selfish and saddistic mentality. Can't they come to thier senses and sympathise with the northerners. To opt for konyi is madness. Remember how he ordered people at a funeral in southern sudan and ordered them to cut into pieces the dead body and cook it. I am wondering realy how a normal person can opt for Kony unless, he or she is a participant in such activities of Konyi: kidnap, murder, rape, canibalism,name it...
You want Museveni to leave him faaa. I tell you konyi would land in Gulu and on that day, he would give you another lesson to make you "love him" more and add praises to him ceaselessly.
But I know Kaguta is a True Christian and will not allow Satan to overwhelm. Ugandans will continue to pray for his success and the success of UPDF so that peace can reign again and Christmas be a reality of Incarnation in the North.

Almost 4 days after the so called thunder attack in Garamba, there is no news as regards Kony's whereabouts, or pictures of dead or captured Kony Commanders.
The reason for that, in many peoples opinion, is that Kony was tipped off days before the attack. As long as Museveni continues to only trust his own balaalo Officers as the best intelligence agents, or the field c/o 's who command from the backlines, many operations are going to fail.
In Congo, the Banyarwanda gave UPDF a bloody nose for the same reason. Kony has managed to escape many times because the foot soldiers who may not be banyankole dont want to die for Musevenis clan.
In Luweero, the majority of the fighters who died were Baganda. The reason is that, like today, Museveni only picked his tribesmen as the "commanders". They would lead from the back and survive. I know for sure that people like Gen. Aronda did not fire a single shot in Luweero. He sat in the tents close to Musevenis and ate chicken while the tough boys faced Obotes army fire. Even in his book, Museveni does not pay tribute to Kaggwa, who was probably the bravest fighter for NRA at the time when the war was very rough.
Its now 23 years after the Luweero war ended. But Museveni is still fighting and has not learnt anything. He is still bent on sending other people to die so that his balaalo can live on and claim all the credit. Lt.Col. Muhoozi is mentioned as one the three balaalo assistants to the main mulaalo leader. But is Muhoozi in line of fire? I bet that he is behind somewhere in a safe tank, miles away from Kony talking on phone with his Dad, while the real fighers on the frontline sweating it out. If Kony gets killed or captured, Museveni will say that its his brave son who ended that war and brought peace to Acholi chidren. If Kony survives, Museveni will surely blame backward forces and everybody else.
One day, Uganda will have to get a true national army where all officers and men have the same value no matter what part of the coutry they come from.
UPDF is Musevenis tribal army.

Dear editor may I ask about where Mr Kony could be now as they have not shown us dead body of Kony? This has exposed M7 to the world that he is just nothing in military terms. How can a huge army fail to arrest this single man? I think these people must be counting the cost of this silly operation. If I was an adviser to M7 I would advise him to use such money to build hospitals so that he can win the 2011 election easly as he has failed to win the the war. What if a country will attack Uganda how will he defend his people? This is a big quation he is very good at spinning things I may term him as a spin doctor of the century. I realy pity him he needs abit of counciling otherwise this man can easly breack down he needs to see a doctor to help him over come such situation.
