The Juba peace jokes were doomed to end in failure before the actually started. In my opinion, a government insisting on signing a peace agreement with a rebel group holding no territory is really a joke. In 1985, NRA rebels signed a peace agreement with the Okello junta, the agreement which the then rebels now in power threw away soon after signing and shot their way into Kampala. Does any of the then rebels know where copies of the 1985 peace agreement are kept today?

States sign agreements and pacts of all sorts and those copies are stored in their national archives for reference and to remind their next generations to abide by the agreements. All agreements should be published, be peace agreements or petroleum exploration. Citizens must know what their leaders agreed with other countries or companies because they have to abide by the agreements. Leaders come and go but signed agreements remain in force. Every one knows that Museveni does not understand the word "AGREEMENT"

To Mr. Museveni, I say, "Those rebels are your children, and all they want is you to address their concerns that drove them to be rebels. Those people are prodigal sons and daughters of Uganda just as you were before January 1986. All they want is equal distribution of national resources, good education for their children, good health care for all Ugandans, guarantee of their human rights and to make national agreements public so that they know their obligations"

The people of Nigeria do not take pride in having killed the rebels of the Biafra civil war which ended in January 1970. Nigerians say that there was no winner in the Biafra civil war and they regret the loss of their Ibo brothers. All they did was to allow their prodigal sons to return home. That is what a "TRUE UGANDAN" president should do. LET OUR PRODIGAL SONS RETURN HOME UNCONDITIONALLY. PEACE AGREEMENTS ARE NOT NECESSARY.

It is a shame for a "True Ugandan" to wear a medal after he killed his brothers and sisters in Luwero, Katonga and Gulu.

Dear RK, Me I think Yoweri Museveni has done it again and has ended up fooling the world.

The newspapers are claiming that the attack took place on Sunday which is December 14 but we should be careful because this talk of a daring attack on the LRA's camp in Garamba forest is based on a UPDF press release. Even the international media like BBC and Al-Jazeera are basing their reports on the UPDF press release. The army should give journalists a chance to report from the battle field and not depend entirely on their spokeman because me I feel suspicious of these guys.

This story reminds me of the one some four years back which took place at Parliament Avenue when there was a claim that a terrorist had taken hostage the Minister of Water, Maria Mutagamba.

We were shown photos of Barak the Israeli commando leading the operations and we also saw Major Muhoozi Kainerugaba the son of Museveni being part of the "operation". Then the whole operation was proved to be a hoax at the end of the day, a complete fiction like they were acting for a movie!

So my question to you is, maybe this is another one of those hoaxes which Museveni gives Uganda and the world whenever he wants to justify promoting his son in the army. Those who know how selfish Museveni is know very well that he cannot put his son and heir apparent Muhoozi anywhere near a real battle where there is even a 5 percent chance of him being injured or dying.

And you know the boy is not so popular in the army, so if you take him to fight, what can stop "friendly fire" from shooting Muhoozi dead on the battle front and then claim that he was killed in action? You know in war anything can happen.

Last time as soon as people in Kampala saw the photos in red Pepper showing Muhoozi around Parliament Avenue "commanding" that katemba "hostage crisis" of Mutagambwa, then everyone knoew it was another hoax.

But now how can Museveni take his only dear son into this forest called Garamba which is so thick and it is around the size of Buganda and Busoga combined? So even if the operation had taken place, the UPDF would not have used fighter planes and tanks to carry it out because it is useless to do an air attack. A serious person who really wants to get Kony would do that the operation by small teams of special forces on foot.

The UPDF should show Ugandans photos of their boys waving victory signs after the operation. They should be taken on that day, not afterwards. You think if Muhoozi had been fighting at Garamba, Museveni would not have made sure that we see a photo of his "well-trained" boy in action so that those who accuse him of promoting his son on grounds of nepotism would be silenced?

So first we need the press and photos there. If that operation really happened, we are asking the Ugandan media to ask the UPDF to fly them to the scene of the "battle" and they at least take photos of the damage to Kony's hideout. After all they said they finished them offf and he run away in disarray. So it should not be so dangerous.

Museveni is a very cunning man me I know him and he can do anything. He is preparing Ugandans to start looking at Muhoozi as a courageous commander who is always recording successes in all his battles. That is how Museveni built up the image of "Rufi" for General Salim Saleh in the bush so that if a person ever tries to stage a coup against Museveni, he will keep fearing that his mutineers will be put down by Saleh and if not by saleh, by Muhoozi.

It is rather dishonest for you to blame Radio Katwe for shying away from informing the world about yet another adventure of M-7. Let the heroic commander of the Uganda Army ( I prefer to call it so coz UPDF is a fake and family name coined by Museveni) first publish the photos of the "enormous damage" inflicted on Kony and his Camp in Garamba forest.

It is him M-7 who is shying away from revealing the true picture, not Radio Katwe, since they are not the ones "who destroyed the Swahili Camp" in Garamba. I believe it is yet another hoax. With today's technology (which the US and Israeli armies employ with high efficiency), Ugandans and the world should be able to visualize digital images of the successes of the Uganda Army. Why is it that two/three days into Operation Lightning Thunder, no independent journalistic accounts have been forthcoming?

We look forward to the heroic photos. Let's stop this blame game.

Though Uganda is paying for this expensive joke in the jungle, the real war, if we can call it that, is only between two gunmen, each with his own tribesmen fighting over things are hard to figure out. Acholi and Runyankore are the only two languages that are fillin the airwaves in the forests, I presume.

A simple look at who are in charge of the Garamba attack, one notices that all the four main commanders are balaalo who are either related to Museveni or his "Born Again" wife.

Those who have lived in Uganda for a long time tell us that there has never been a time when nepotism was so open. After looking at the names of the Officers that were reshuffled in the Intelligence, and in Ugandas foreign missions, I have to agree.

You other guys in UPDF, how do you feel when you are so excluded from doing what you were trained to do?

And you guys that have lived displaced in camps since 1986, do you now see how Museveni has used you as a reason to form a micro-tribal army of his own?

Allow me to vent out my sentiments and opinion about the aggression on the LRA hideout in Garamba, which needs to be given another dimension. From political point of view it is just another of African madness and uncalled for wars. But from a moral and spiritual point of view, it is one of Museveni's underworld ritual murder for purposes of winning the 2011 election. It is another crime against humanity in the making.

The joint attack on Joseph Kony and the LRA in the Garamba forest on the 14th December 2008 is just another opportunity for Museveni to quench his thirst for blood. A thirst, which has become unbearable, since when the LRA moved to Southern Sudan and DRC (Garamba) three year ago.

It is high time Ugandans especially NRM diehard woke up to the forces of darkness, from which Museveni derives his hold onto power. We can learn and deduce voodoo lessons from distant and also the recent past, like the one of Kajubi's spate of human sacrifices for wealth. Now that the 2011 election is just two years away, and the stake is high, more innocent blood is necessary to appease the power of darkness.

Some of the indicators of Museveni's usage of the power of darkness to stay in power are indisputable. For example on the first day of the 2001 presidential election campaign, a hit man armed with a pickup truck run over and killed five innocent supporters of Kiiiza Besigye (Reform Agenda) in Bweyogerere on Jinja Road. But neither arrest nor investigation was carried out and the culprit is still a free killer. This can be interpreted as a ritual murder.

At the beginning of the 2006 Presidential election once again a hit man by the name of Lt. Ramathan Magara was sent into the crowd with AK47 to mow down innocent FDC supporters at Bulange. To date Magara is a free man. This was another ritual murder to enable Museveni to go through. Need I say more?

As if that was not ugly enough, Museveni through the Attorney General did not only file trumped up charges against Dr. Kiiza Besigye, but also recruited criminal LRA, Onen Kamdulu and Aryem to bear false witness against Dr. Kiiza Besigye and others in order to nail them on treason and terrorism charges.

The types of people Museveni works with are known criminals against Ugandans. Lt. Ramathan Magara must be Museveni's hit man. He might also be the soldier who ran over (killed) five Reform Agenda supporters in 2001. It is commonplace knowledge that Museveni recycles not only his Ministers like Sam Kuteesa who have been found guilty of swindling public money; but also ritual murderers.

In history it is only the leaders that shed human blood the most that perpetually stay in power: e.g. Genkish Khan, Stalin, Mao Tse Dong, Kim Il Sung, Mobutu, Bokasa, and Idi Amin Dada was also rumored to have performed ritual murder to enhance his stay in power. And now we have Museveni in Uganda who needed the innocent blood of the Luwero people; and also Paul Kagame who engineered the 1994 genocide, which swallowed close to a million lives.

When the Luwero blood and skulls dried up at the end of 1980, the North and North Eastern Uganda became the source of more bloodletting and skulls, to appease the forces of darkness. Otherwise what makes Museveni stick around?

From a macho and psychological point of view, Museveni conceded defeat, after he failed to obliterate Joseph Kony and the LRA cried, and out loud to the mighty ICC. To confirm his his further defeat, now with the help the US, has sought coalition with the GOSS and DRC.

What is haunting and hurting Museveni's ego, is the fact that he can't defeat an illiterate Joseph Kony. Kony and his lot are first class illiterates, but have made sophisticated intellectual UPDF Generals look like the defunct comic character, "Corporal Afande" we used to read in the Daily Monitor.

For umpteenth times Museveni and his Generals swore by their mothers to destroy Kony and the LRA; but to no avail. General Kazini was last to be humbled humbled, so were his predecessors like Mugisha Muntu. Fearing to be included on the list humiliated Generals Gen Aronda has not issued any ultimatum to the LRA.

For two decades and counting an illiterate Kony and before him Alice Auma Lakwena kept Museveni and his Generals running in circle. What nightmares Museveni would have suffered, if Kony and his cousin sister Lakwena were a highly educated and sophisticated person like for example Hon Odonga Otto, or Nobert Mao. Museveni would probably have committed suicide.

Knowing where from and whence Museveni comes (Rwandese refugee); Joseph Kony and Lakwena are probably the only patriotic Ugandan who have refused to bow down before and be ruled by an alien Museveni. Note: any anybody who still wants to challenge me or anybody else on Museveni's country of origin and also social class status should ask Muzee Byanyima who knows Museveni and his itinerant mother inside out!

War costs a lot of money, destroys life, properties and also proliferates ghost; but for Museveni and his commanders, it is a hobby and means to an end. They need conflict and war in order to steal funds (classified expenditure) for personal and family gains.

Those whose sons, husbands, and immediate relatives are now deployed in this uncalled for war will now have sleepless night. This year will end on a sad note as more innocent Ugandans, Sudanese and Congolese will get killed in Garamba forest vicinity. And the year 2009 will also start with funeral services as the unfortunate combatants will get marooned by the LRA and killed in unfamiliar territory (Garamba forest).

With the 2011 election approaching, the NRM needs over Shs.50 billion to brag and bribe the electorates. Besides Museveni wants to demonstrate that he is the alpha and omega and the only source funding for the NRM party. Without him the NRM is dead. To fulfill his selfish objectives, he is constantly in cahoot with his mafia goons: his step Brother Salim Saleh, Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kuteesa, John Nasasira of Works and of course Security Minister Amama Mbabazi (NRM Secretary General) and other roadrunners like Annanias Tumukunde.

The curse of this joint operation against the LRA is that the governments of Uganda, DRC and GOSS are the aggressors. In the history of all aggressions, there is moral implication. For some unexplained reason the aggressor will suffer the tragedy of aggression.

For example Hitler attacked Poland in 1939 and the Germans paid the heavy price of World War II (WWII); Japan attacked Americans at Pearl Harbor and it was almost obliterated with atomic bombs; Saddam attacked Kuwait in 1990, it led to his demise by hanging in 2005. But also when America attacked Iraq on false allegation that it had stockpiled weapons of mass destruction (WDM), it is still paying a high price. So far over 4,000 marines are dead and US$.600 billion blown in the Iraqi desert (besides the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and destruction of that country's social and economic structures).

Before that in 1998, when some American Marines arrogantly attacked Somalia (Mogadishu), they were humiliated; as ragtag Somalis killed and dragged dead marines on Mogadishu streets like play things. America will never forget that scene.

Even if the LRA have been perceived as villains, attacking them at a time when there is a general consensus on a peaceful process and negotiation reverses the guilt. Thus Museveni and the UPDF becomes the villain (aggressors), while Kony and the LRA becomes the victim. Therefore from a moral and divine justice point of view, President Museveni and his Generals must prepare to pay the ultimate price for being offenders. Not because the LRA will kill Museveni, but because unfortunately somebody else will be the one to suffer the consequences.

What has happened now vindicates Joseph Kony and the LRA that Museveni can't be trusted. The attack on the LRA hideout is like poking the hornet nest. The three governments should now prepare to take responsibility for the consequences of LRA backlash. Some people will get hurt, for example high ranking military officers may end up in a nasty chopper crash in the Garamba forest as they pursue their mistaken objective.

The LRA will always have nothing to lose because it is accountable to no one. Since they have been provoked and attacked, they can now go back to doing what they do best: terror and displacement of the local population of the region. However, the law of nature is just and even handed; even Museveni will not escape that justice. It will be sudden and even tragic.

Regarding the war from the North these people are day dreaming. They think that all of us are spine less but we know their strategies. All of as are aware of the rules of engagement in the combat operation nobody is going to sleep meanwhile your enemy is planning to attack. All in all they are talking about their opperation in Congo just to make them appear as the victors and yet in reality they have failed to finish the war in the last twenty years or more. We in UNRF have been batling them ever since and we shall go ahead to finish the job.

These people are wasting our money buying weapons and yet all our hospitals are without medicine. and people are suffering running away from the country.

Regarding the Airforce this small Airforce was started by the sons of Arua those boys who were in Libya after the fall of Amin including Lt Draji who is from the family of Abtalatif. They are the people who started this Airforce after which all of them were removed imprisoned now they are in exile. These people must stop potraying themselves as heroes and yet they are not good at military drilling. I was at Magamaga Baracks in the 70s we all saw how some of them used to perform, they would preffer to go for washing toilets rather than doing the proper drilling as you may have seen during Amin regime. To be brief they are just good at marketing but useles in the war.

Its very sad that the killer M7 is thinking the whole world is foolish, that whatever he says/ does will be taken on a face value.

For example he is trying to fool the whole world that Southern Sudan, DRC and UPDF are joining to fight Kony. This is not true, its just the UPDF attacking empty Kony camps.

Kony knew a month ago that UPDF is planning to attack in those areas to help soften the ground for the Nkunda's to expand their territory in order to have easy flow of supplies from the killer M7.

We in UPDF know what's going on. M7 trusted his brother Salim Saleh to control all the weapons supply in the region, but now Saleh is counting down the days till his "6 feet under" as Muhoozi has taken over those duties. Mohoozi is out to make sure the flow of Nunda's supply is smooth and also able to expand his territory.

The submission (12) by Aluma regarding the performance of Museveni's tribesmen in the army sums it all up. They rather wash the toilets rather than do the rigorous drills. This is visible in all the Units of the Uganda Army of today. They rather be Commanders rather than do the real donkey job of seasoned men in uniforms of lying in the trenches.

For those who might think I may be bluffing, just look at the composition of the rank and file and real fighting force of today's Uganda Army (Definition of Rank and File: the people who form the major portion of a military organization, excluding the leaders/officers like Muhoozi). The real boys with tough balls are mostly from the North and East.

Dear Museveni, despite the humiliation of the North/East, please remember that no situation is permanent!!

A bullet is a bullet and is no respecter of persons. One lucky bullet is all it takes to get rid of an annoyance. The war machinery or a Presidential jet can be disabled by a spoonful of sugar in the petrol / diesel tank. Think how effective this act could be should we need it to fight the fascist military UPDF. Who is this M7, a super hero / Rambo? Can he march or has he ever marched carrying 15kg weight on his head /back without a Dr. Byesigye beside him? What chance would our weaklings have in Garamba when they are physically effete? I am not in favour of Ugandans killing Ugandans or Africans doing the Whiteman's job of depopulating resource-rich underdeveloped parts of the world.

A non-PhD should not go around claiming her has a PhD, neither should a poor soldier like M7 go around claiming superiority in the art and science of war. Any fool can kill and we have murders everyday in the world by individuals who have no military skill.

I am a Ugandan but I am increasingly getting worried that the map of Uganda will soon be redrawn. Imagine the North joining up with Southern Sudan and North Western Congo. Imagine Rwanda and "willing" Ankole if they can accept Tutsi domination, Easter Tutsi controlled DRC and North West Tanzania joining up? Impossible you say? This would be the best response to the west for supporting dictators. Who will pay the usurious AID / DEBTS in the new country configuration? They will write-off these debts or go after M7 and his cohorts.

On a different note Ugandans / Africans study history and project your visions beyond the obvious current. The whole world has a plan for you and unless something miraculous saves Africa we are doomed!!!

Once again, we see the over-egostic UPDF, lying about their capability, to fight any war.

From the sketchy news coming through, we see the LRA have beaten them to it again, as previously with Operation Iron Fist, which was much bigger than this.

They bombed a empty camps! They first said the pilots gave them a good hiding, now they're saying they cannot find anybody!

Riek Machar, was reported as having had spoken to one of Kony's commander a few minutes before the attack, was it a batrayal of Museveni, or was it a batrayal of the LRA?

allow me to express my appreciation to a certain N.N.Ssepuya comment no.15 on "...Tyrany of Museven...", about his intelligent observation on the reportings by Radio Katwe. Indeed this is a one sided reporting machinary incomprehensible to true journalistic ethos. From Morning to evening, these guys are just occupied with three major characters: Kagame, Kaguta and Nkunda. The reports are nothing but negative and humiliating.

These disgruntled reporters cannot stop any body from doing anything good to save AFricans from the likes of Konyi and Iganatius Murwanashyaka of Interahamwe's,. These are evils on earth and any reasonable person must rise up in defence of humanity before Konyi recuperates from the bombardments to reorganize his demons.

It is only those who do not wish the Ugandans well, who desire that Konyi is left alone and may later comes back to maim, abduct, rape, spread HIV to Aboke girl-students, etc...

To the supprise of many, these guys include top people from the North may be because their immidiate families were not touched at all by Konyi's wrath, snce they are a middle class group living in motels in Kampala, Entebbe and Jinja. The wanainchis have suffered and it is right and proper that Plan B comes into force to stop the killers. Politicians from the North must be objective and then they can be credible.

Congs! again to Ssepuya's obseravtion. Konyi and RK are one for the one mission of hoodwinking the world from real damage he Konyi has committed. Like or not, he must face ICC if not secular, then sacro.

You will have to be reported to the British/Irish Republic Authority because you will have claimed assylum on the pretext that your life is in danger yet it is not the case. A few months a ago you and the support of Mengo were calling upon all Ugandans to unite toward bringing an end to this thug/ M7 ruler. I'm surprised on reading your comment that Acholi community and those in the UK are suppoting the war in the North! Have you any slightest idea how Acholi feel? Having no proper home to go to? You are the type who kill and turn round blame Acholi because at the moment there are helpless in your eyes!

But don't be deceived by what you see on the ground. I wonder if you read this website at all! There has been so many confessions by those from NRM govt who are living in exile about their part in killing and destroying Acholiland as a whole. You know what? I haven't got time to waste on people like you the so-called Kalule!

Thankyou for exposing the dirt in Uganda, Rwanda and DRCongo. Sepuya (comment 15) is well aware of the facts and trying to put up a spirited fight but my brother we now know the truth and NRM is for a few and you are not even near or close to that group. I have sung the NRM GLORY AND KNOW I HAVE BEEN WRONG, that is the most important thing, to know wrong from right.

When Museveni starts an aggression and a war in another country he does it at a time he wants to arm a rebel group in the same country. He did that for SPLA AND THE RESULT....AFTER THE WAR WAS ALLEDGEDLY OVER.... A CHOPPER CRASH.

Now he is arming NKUNDA and DRCongo better be very careful because Museveni wants the north destabilised for a very long time and so he can justify all the defence bugdet and spendings without checks and balances and his bank account in Iceland will be fatter soon.

It was the patriotic Ugandan UPDF soldiers who might have tipped off the LRA about the Operation Lightening Thunder. Reader's response No.16 testifies to this.

Who wants to kill and get killed at this time of the year when everybody wants to be with their families during the festive season? It is only a heartless person like Museveni who can send our soldiers, a thousand miles away into another county on a killing spree during Christmas and New Year holidays. For heaven's sake, this is a war which is unprovoked.

In Christian tradition, for example, the Europeans from where we borrowed our religious virtue never went to war during Christmas season. This is because it is the Birth period for the Prince of Peace Jesus Christ! But here we are: the head of the First family in Uganda is an architect of war on Christmas Eve. What is depressing is that Museveni's immediate family members (wife and daughters) are not only confessed Christian fundamentalists, but the first daughter Patience, is a newfound Church Pastor in Buziga. Woe unto you stiff-necked Hypocrites!

Those supporting the UPDF incursion into Garamba must be killers like their current president. They love bloodshed. Like the Mongo, Genghis Khan; Museveni derives happiness from killing his opponents; ?The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters". Otherwise there is no justifiable reason why the UPDF has to pursue Joseph Kony and the LRA 2,000km across Southern Sudan into DR Congo. It would have been understandable, if the LRA had crossed back into Uganda and caused mayhem.

It is silly to argue that the operation is to force Kony to sign the Juba Peace Agreement; because a forced agreement is not an agreement worth the paper and signatures on it. It is only a fool who can sign such an agreement.

It is also absurd to argue that the mission is to rescue the abductees; because the so call abductees are not children anymore. The children in Garamba are LRA second generation, not abductees. Interestingly even Kony christened his two of his sons after Gen Salim Saleh and Col Muhoozi.

In a nutshell, it is not in Ugandans spirit to hunt down and kill fellow countrymen women and children the way Museveni is pursuing the LRA. It is not in Ugandans souls to roast fellow countrymen in train wagon in Mukora. It is not in Ugandans spirit to bury countrymen alive in Bucoro. It is not in Ugandans to massacre civilians at Corner Kilak. If the UPDF wanted Kony dead, he would be history today.

Those who still think Joseph Kony is the problem are not only being simplistic but irrational. It was Museveni and the NRA's atrocity in Odek, Omoro County, Gulu District that was unacceptable and provoked the LRA rebellion. It was matching and driving women, children, the old and infirm into Pece Stadium like animals by Gen Tinyefunza that incensed the population.

In the psych of our true Ugandan soldier's you don't go around killing fellow countrymen for a salary Shs.200,000. Many of them know why Kony is Kony and the LRA is what it is.

But it is the Rwandese People's Defence Force (RPDF) in Uganda that wants to slaughter Ugandans like Joseph Kony and the LRA. The people of Acholi, Lango and Teso who suffered the brunt of atrocities either committed by the LRA or the RPDF, have repeatedly forgiven Joseph Kony and the LRA. But it is Museveni who is hell bent on killing Kony. Why? Hell knows.

Whatever that means, even Genghis Khan who terrorized Asia ended up in an unmarked grave in the middle of nowhere, like Mubutu and Idi Amin
