ANNOUNCING THE FEDERAL CONFERENCE IN LONDON
STARTING 5PM ON FRIDAY 22-AUG-08 TO 3PM ON SUNDAY 24-AUG-08
Yesterday is gone – plotting the future together
Theme
FEDERALISM IS STRENGTH IN DIVERSITY –
TO ENGENDER CONFIDENCE & TRUST;
TO ENSURE DEVELOPMENT & OWNERSHIP;
TO PROTECT CONTINUITY & STABILITY
WE MUST GIVE FEDERALISM A CHANCE
Objective
WE ARE WORKING TO A TARGET THAT
BY 2016 UGANDA WILL BE A FEDERAL STATE
MEANWHILE IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY
TO IDENTIFY THE FORCES OF PROGRESS AND COMPROMISE
TO DRIVE THE UGANDA FEDERAL PROJECT FORWARD
Goal
WE WILL CREATE A DEMOCRATIC VIABLE MODERN STATE
WHICH SERVES THE INTERESTS OF ALL OUR COMMUNITIES
BY MOBILISING AND BRINGING ALL STAKEHOLDERS
TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THEIR COUNTRY.
All peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right, they freely determine their political status and freely persue their economic, social and cultural development. This conference is clear that now is the time to decide on a new Uganda for all of us. No one and I repeat no one should decide the vision for Uganda without our consent and input. This conference is free of political party affliation, tribe, religion or opportunism.
